Magic Shields

When my daughter was sick with leukemia, we spent months keeping her isolated from any kind of virus. During that time, I worked on “Suleika’s Shield” a ceramic assemblage of a multitude of small tiles attached together with strings, each tile representing a day, and started a “Magic Shields” series that speaks to the idea of protection.
