When I was a child, I lived near a lake and I was fascinated by a barograph standing near the harbor . It was a simple cylinder with a paper roll, and the translation from weather to a continuous jagged line which was writing itself seemed beautifully abstract to me.
In these "Seismographies", the line records subjective impulses as much as naturalistic observations .

In Ancient Greece, a caryatid was a large stone female figure that supported an architectural mass, the entablature of a temple. This “Paper Caryatid” is a reflection on lightness and gravity and the source of strength during difficult times.
